Social media public speaker gigs in Australia

I have a few upcoming social media public speaker gigs at Australian conferences. I love having the opportunity to speak about social media, particularly when it’s to an audience who are involved in the operational aspect of social media in their organisation. If you’d like to speak to me about further public speaking opportunities where I can inspire your audience and give them practical take home tips on social media, please get in touch!

Social Media Best Practice Toolkit 2015 Conference – Melbourne

I’ll be presenting on an intensive case study on social media and innovation. The topic is on supercharging Government websites through the integration of social media. The aim of the presentation is to present a case study on:

  • Brisbane City Council website redesign as an example of creating meaningful digital experience for customers
  • Innovative social media integration to drive digital strategy that aims for increased shareability, conversations and engagement
  • Results will highlight benefits and outcomes for Brisbane City Council and potentially other government organisations
  • Australian and New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management Conference – Gold Coast

I’m hoping to be presenting again at the ANZDMC. I presented there last year, my topic was ‘‘All that I’m hearing from you is white noise’: social media aggregation in emergency response.’. It was very well received and went on to be published in the Australian Journal of Emergency Management. This year I’m hoping to present on the Stewardship Model in social media. I’ll update here if I have a firm decision on this.

Emergency Media and Public Affairs Conference – Auckland

I’ve been asked to present on the use of social media in crisis communications and emergency management at the July conference for Emergency Media and Public Affairs Conference in Auckland. I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to engage with other professionals in the field and to learn from our New Zealand friends on how they’re using social media to connect with their communities.
