I’ve been playing a video game called “Costume Quest” on XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade). The game is set on Halloween night, and characters Reynold and Wren – brother and sister – head out trick-or-treating to make new friends. The brother and sister dynamic is clever as the game plays the same, but you get to choose male or female hero, something many games still fail to do.

The story evolves as the non-chosen character is kidnapped and the player must get he or she back safely. Costume Quest excels because it takes a sort of old school approach to gaming, wherein everything is simple. and a great little game it is for it. If you liked Animal Crossing, you might want to think about getting Costume Quest on Xbox or PSN. Though Animal Crossing is a very different game, the two do share a few collecting, cutesy rpg elements.
