This photo is one of the most famous in the world. It’ll be used for years to come to symbolize many things, but for me it is about the making of a hero. This one person stood up to an entire regime. He spoke his mind by saying nothing at all. He showed courage in the face of adversity and sometimes, I think we all need to be a little bit more courageous.
Something that is often overlooked in this photo is that the tank driver drove around him. In my mind, this makes him a hero too. He could have crushed him.. he could have done what he was trained to do, but he took the higher road.
Something worth thinking about next time you’re in a situation where you have two choices. You only have one life. Don’t forget it.
