Whilst watching a recent episode of a TV series, the lead character – a teacher – broached the thank you note with students. She passed out letter-headed paper and gave them the assignment “write a thank you note”. The blank looks on faces told a story, a story of being a kid in the new millennium.
The days of traveling to the post office are gone, now if you want to ‘write’ to someone, you email them. This means the mindset of the younger generation is different and that difference is firmly lodged in technology.
If you want to reach a broad demographic, or perhaps your product or service is aimed at the younger generation, then it seems social media is the way to go and not leaflet drops and other tactile forms of communication.
