No you don’t, and no one is that popular, not even Mother Theresa had that many friends. I’ve got around 100 or so friends on Facebook, these are people that I know, have worked with or care about for one reason or another, not randoms who remember me from that time we said hello to one another at that thing held by what’s her name back in 1999.
There’s seems to be three types of Facebook users, those who use it for what was intended in the beginning, those who use it as a social media outreach / networking tool and those who use it as a status symbol. There also seems to be a new way in how these people get high numbers and it is by sending friend requests to random users. I’ve had 3 friend requests from people I don’t know this week alone and the friends I have spoken to tell me I am not alone. I don’t accept them, do you?
